ACORN could still get taxpayer funds; whistleblower explains

Although Congress suspended ACORN’s federal funding and the Census Bureau and IRS  severed ties with ACORN, the scandalized community organizing group could once again receive taxpayer dollars – and soon. In addition, the federal government is allegedly still sending money to ACORN through back channels.

In September, both houses of Congress voted to strip ACORN’s funding. However Congress was unable to pass their annual appropriations bills by the October 1 deadline. The Continuing Resolution signed by President Barack Obama holds government spending at current levels until Congress can pass the 12 appropriations bills. The current resolution is in effect until October 31. Once the bills are passed, ACORN could once again be eligible for billions in federal taxpayer funds.

“There are 12 appropriations bills, each funding different government agencies and programs. Adding the prohibition language to, say, the Transportation funding bill doesn’t stop ACORN from accessing Housing funds,” Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R – Minn.) wrote  at Townhall.com.

In other words, every appropriations bill must specifically deny funding for ACORN in order for federal funding to cease.

Meanwhile, the government had to become increasingly creative in their efforts to fund the group. Just two weeks after Congress suspended funds to the group, the Washington Times reported  that the Department of Homeland Security awarded the ACORN Institute, ACORN’s non-profit affiliate, just under $1 million in grant money intended for fire departments. ACORN would not explain how the grant money would be used.

It now appears that the grant money is no longer destined for ACORN. But last year, the group allegedly received nearly $500,000 – over half of the grant money meant for Louisiana fire departments.

In addition, the ACORN Institute is still eligible for money from the Combined Federal Campaign, a federal employee charity program. CFC is the world’s largest annual workplace charity campaign.

“ACORN Institute is one of the myriad of nonprofit organizations that function with the express purpose of sending funds to ACORN through Citizens Consulting Inc. (CCI),” Anita MonCrief, a former employee of ACORN, told The US Report. Since leaving the group, MonCrief has exposed the corrupt inner-workings of ACORN.

MonCrief alleged: “During my time at ACORN I saw that ACORN Institute would apply for grants from charitable organizations that only gave to tax-exempt nonprofits, but the work described in the grant could only be done by ACORN. Like Project Vote, ACORN Institute would then ‘contract’ with ACORN to complete the promised projects. Also ACORN institute provides a way for wealthy donors like George Soros and Herb Sandler to give to ACORN and still receive a tax credit.”

In June, ACORN and its affiliated groups filed a lawsuit against Moncrief. Last week the defense fund Fight for Anita was formed to help MonCrief with the expensive legal fees and preserve her First Amendment rights.

If the government determined that ACORN was no longer worthy to receive taxpayer funding, they would have slammed the door shut on the group. But without pressure from taxpayers, the Democrat leadership will likely continue to fund and provide cover  for  ACORN.

Up next…The Federal Takeover of California

It widely known that California has moths in it’s pockets. The state is virtually bankrupt, even after receiving almost $7 billion in stimulus money from the American taxpayer. Last year, everyone knew the state was in trouble, but it took until February for Governor Schwarzenegger and the State Legislators to agree on a new budget which closed a $42 billion spending gap.

Part of the new budget involved $13 billion in new or higher taxes, and $15 billion in total spending cuts, including $8.6 billion in cuts to public education. $1.4 billion was also cut from state payroll costs. Part of that budget was to go into effect immediately, while other sections had to wait until July 1st. Just as an aside, last time I checked, $13 billion plus $15 billion did not equal $42 billion – I’m just saying.

With the state’s coffers in such need of filling, the $7 billion in stimulus spending dangled by Il Duce was happily received – strings, hooks, and all. The money replaced a proposed $0.12 per gallon tax hike, which I’m sure most Californian’s were happy to see left out of the budget. But then the other shoe dropped.

In a show of what can only be described as Brass Balls, yesterday President Obama jerked on the stimulus money, setting the hook, which will now allow him to control the state’s budget. Specifically, $74 million dollar budget cuts to the pay of unionized home healthcare workers. As reported in the L.A. Times,

Schwarzenegger’s office was advised this week by federal health officials that the wage reduction, which will save California $74 million, violates provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Failure to revoke the scheduled wage cut before it takes effect July 1 could cost California $6.8 billion in stimulus money, according to state officials.

In other words, Obama is doing the same thing to California that he is doing to the auto and banking industries. Do what we want, because we gave you money. You took money, therefore we own you. The citizens of California are unimportant. The projects that would be paid for with the $7 billion, also not important. The taxpayers, many yet to be born, that are paying for the stimulus cash, definitely not important. The home health care union workers, who I’m sure would rather take a pay cut than lose their jobs, they’re important.

However, they are important only to a certain extent. The workers belong to SEIU, which is a branch of ACORN. As reported in the L.A. Times, but probably never in the MSM,

The workers, who collectively contribute millions of dollars in dues each month to the influential Service Employees International Union and the United Domestic Workers…

This is an ACORN payoff, plain and simple. ACORN is in large part responsible for the election of Barack Obama, and he owes them big. The state might very well be out of cash by June, so for Obama to put a political ally ahead of they needs of millions of citizens (which, ironically, voted for him in large numbers) is narrow minded, supercilious, and narcissistic.

Sorry California, you just got punk’d by a nut.

ACORN: Why not ask the Somalian Pirates to join!

Dear Ms. Bertha Lewis,

I do not know if you have been following the events unfolding between the Somalian Pirates and their standoff with the U.S. Navy, but I believe a wonderful opportunity for your organization has formed. As you are well aware, ACORN has been developing international arms, expanding it’s influence to other countries in dire need your organization’s talents in extorting money from those greedy captains of industry. The Somalian “Pirates”, in a similar fashion, are really just community organizers, and are also extorting money from the wealthy and powerful, to distribute to the poor and needy masses of Somalia.

It is this similarity of purpose that inspired me to suggest a partnership. Better yet, induct the Somalian marine organizers into ACORN! They have similar interests, tactics, and motivations. The benefits to your organization are legion:

1. You get additional membership dues, a new office in a before unreached country
2. Additional funds provided by the ransom money the Somali’s have been adept at receiving
3. Additional SEIU members – the pirates, excuse me, organizers clearly are in need of unionizing
4. These extra members will need payroll services, so CCI will have another source of income
5. Additional members trained in Alinsky’s reforming tactics
6. A huge new market for ACORN housing, as the Somali’s obviously require low to moderate income housing
7. More off-shore locations to store money, thereby avoiding U.S. taxes
8. Many new money laundering possibilities
9. Increase press coverage as every hi-jacking receives worldwide media attention
10. The adoration of another oppressed people group

I could keep going, but I’m sure you have the idea now. It is important to note that I am not looking for anything special if this idea takes root and becomes beneficial for ACORN, I just want to see your organization succeed, grow, and be prosperous. Taking Down ACORN

I am a martial artist. Unlike most, however, I study the individual forms academically as well as physically. This inquiry extends beyond fighting forms to include military strategy as well – everyone needs a hobby, some people collect stamps. Anyway, the most successful, and natural, forms and strategies all share, at their core, a lesson pulled from nature. The instincts of animals, insects, or natural forces are powerful and worthy of study.

ACORN, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, has been, and is currently a major player and motivating force behind the meltdown of our financial system. They are also behind much of the rage against AIG. They will stop at nothing less than complete economic collapse and revolution. The veneer of concern for “poor people” is showing flaws as researchers begin pulling at the loose threads of this vile organization [If you are unfamiliar with this group, it’s mission, or strategy, this article will be a good place to start]. It is not enough. This organization is too well funded, too well connected, and too dispersed to be taken down directly. You may as well try to destroy an oak tree with a pocket knife.

There is another way.

In nature, the Gall Wasp is perhaps the oldest acorn eater. Adult females lay eggs in the female flowers of oak trees. As these flowers morph into seeds, galls (abnormal growths) develop in or on the acorn. The wasp’s larvae live in, and feed off the the meat while protected by the acorn’s hard shell. The picture above is of the acorn plum gall, which is quite conspicuous, however many are inconspicuous and can only be found by opening the acorn and examining the contents. The pip gall wasp can destroy acorns by the millions.

This group must be taken down from the inside. Because they have multiple factions and front groups, each group must be invaded. At first these invasions must be inconspicuous. Additional individuals must be converted to Conservatism from acorn workers, or at least have seeds of doubt about the group’s motives planted. The average ACORN employee or volunteer does not have the full picture of the organization’s motives and goals.

When enough “sleeper cells” have been implanted, the entire organization can be brought down in one fell swoop, through insider information being made public, and disruption of daily and long term activities. We are in a battle, as I have mentioned repeatedly on this site. We must begin to think and act like we are in one. The longer we avoid facing reality, the stronger our opponent becomes.

You forced Liddy’s hand in releasing the names of the bonus receiving employees of AIG, luckily you haven’t made them public. But I suspect it is just a matter of time before that list finds its way into Code Pink’s hands. The black-shirts of ACORN are not wasting any time and have already put out a list of names and addresses of AIG employees in general, I guess hoping they would hit pay dirt eventually. Their “Star Map” stalkers, like this uber-genius here (hey coward…show us your face!), are protesting in front of innocent employees homes. It is only a matter of time before violence breaks out. Oh, you’ll decry the violent acts in front of a camera, sure. More here.

You caused this entire mess, you and that lying moron Chris Dodd! The Media is willingly helping you destroy this country and our economy. I hope enough MA voters learn of your treachery and vote you out of office. You’d better learn your lines now:

$3,550,000,000,000 – Has he lost his freakin’ mind?

Il Duce is about to unveil his budget for the next year. I had a post earlier that provided the blueprint, but was missing specifics. The specifics are about to be unveiled, and I will post them as soon as they are released – so stay tuned! He is going to need help “selling” this plan to the American people, so beware of ACORN volunteers sneaking up and clubbing you with a baseball bat.

“We can’t leave this important debate up to a Washington establishment that doesn’t welcome change,” wrote Mitch Stewart, who heads Organizing for America, the grassroots group that evolved from Obama’s presidential run.

Those who thought that the tax increases were just going to be on the “wealthy” – how does that shoe taste? This budget will cost $10,000 per American or over $30,000 per Taxpayer. And that is in addition to the $2,000,000,000,000 cashectemy he has already performed!

As the sign says…Chains We Can Believe In.

We know that volunteers will be going door-to-door collecting signatures in support of his budget (more on that here).  Please, please – when the Obama-zombies show up at your house, act like you’re going to sign, then steal their clipboard – no, I’m serious!  Run into the house, then when they start knocking, either show them your .45 or call the cops.
