As we speak, four men are in custody that Fate tied together. One, a known, wanted terrorist who’s known crimes against Americans are too gruesome to even describe on the nightly news. The other three are members of one of the most esteemed, honorable, and lauded military organizations ever created. In a time of war against Muslim terrorists, common sense would dictate that justice would be on the side of those fighting on our behalf. Logic would use the history of actions committed by terrorists, both on the battlefield and in custody, to predict the behavior of one that has been captured. Patriotism and belief in the justness of the cause for which we fight would combine to give our soldiers a wide berth when dealing with our enemies.

None of these are being implemented in the case against Matthew McCabe, Julio Huertas, Jr, and Jonathan Keefe. These three courageous boys are members of SEAL Team 10, and had been among those to capture Ahmed Hashim Abed. Abed remains a captured al Qaeda terrorist, wanted for the slaying of four Blackwater security contractors (and former commandos themselves) in a most heinous fashion. These three SEALs are being charged with either abusing Abed, or covering up the abuse.

A poll of 100 random Americans, if shown the pictures of the charred bodies of four of our citizens hanging from a bridge, would find 99 of them volunteering to “abuse” Abed. I would count myself among them. Abed does not possess the sense of decency we do. He could have held the Blackwater members captive, fed, clothed, and cared for their medical needs – as we do – in a comfortable cell. He showed no such compassion. He murdered them, burned their bodies, then dragged their charred remains through the streets among cheering crowds. Since that did not satisfy his evil desires, he then hung the bodies from a bridge to be played with by locals (including children) and called several news agencies to take pictures such as this one.

In capturing Abed, who was armed at the time of his capture, no SEAL harmed him. At that time, they could have, or even shot him, but they didn’t. He was also initially turned over to Iraqi police. It was back in U.S. custody that the alleged “abuse” occurred. It is also well known that al Qaeda training manuals instruct terrorists to claim abuse while in custody, even to the point of self-inflicting wounds as “evidence”. Abed’s word should mean nothing. The government has not released photographs or video of the injuries (it is undergoing “classification review”), and balked at allowing our soldiers to directly face him at their courts-martial. The government has also delayed the case, presumably because the only credible witness to the abuse, a third class master-at-arms, can’t seem to get his story straight. At least five different statements by the unnamed sailor have been made and appear to conflict with each other.

The SEALS initially were faced with an Article 15 “Captains Mast”, which is a non-judicial proceeding by their commanding officer. All three declined as it is viewed as an admission of guilt. These soldiers wanted their day in court knowing that a guilty verdict in a courts-martial will carry a harsher sentence. Guilty people try to find a way to avoid harsh sentences, innocent people want to clear their name.

When boiled down to the nutshell version, this smells like a witch hunt. Why the master-at-arms is lying is anyone’s guess at this point, but people telling the truth don’t give conflicting statements, though they may add or delete details as time progresses. The bigger question, however, is why does anyone care about the alleged “abuse” of this piece-of-trash? Americans don’t care. At least 40 Congressmen don’t care. In the wake of Abu-Ghraib, I can understand some heightened sensitivity toward claims of abuse, but also understand that everyone in the military does not want a repeat of those actions. Our soldiers are going out of their way, and often being put in harms way, to avoid harming prisoners of war. I have also had the honor of knowing many Navy SEALS, these men do NOT lie to their commanding officers. They are among the most honorable people I have ever met. In other words, I would take the word of one SEAL over the word of 10 masters-at-arms and 1,000 terrorists. When three SEALS tell the same story, only the direct Word of God could convince me they are lying.

And Abed’s “abuse”, seriously, is merely a punch in the stomach. It is in their charge-sheets. So apparently on top of being a complete waste of carbon, Abed also lacks the intestinal fortitude to injure himself properly or thoroughly.

The SEALS still need our help. For more information on how you can help, and more details on this case, please go here. They have sacrificed so much for us, the least we can do for them is write a letter or make a phone call. For these three men to even stand trial is the greatest travesty of justice I have ever witnessed.

Referring to the massive socialized healthcare bill, Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) told members of the National Press Club: “I love these members that get up and say, ‘read the bill.’ What good is it to read the bill when it’s a thousand pages, and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you’ve read the bill?”

Are you the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, or an innocent bystander, Conyers?

Who is it that determines that the House has only two days to read a bill anyways?

Isn’t the job of the Congressman to read the bill he or she is voting on? God doesn’t write these bills, people do. If the bill is too complex, if you only have two days to read the bill, vote against it. This is as absurd as a firefighter saying “I love these citizens that get in my face and say, ‘save my baby.'”

When someone says something like that, they don’t deserve to be a Congressman, or a firefighter, any more.

And the media ensues

I had to do it. As much as I don’t want to, I must.

All this talk about Michael Jackson has infuriated me. Normally, I could care less about a celebrity who has passed away, and while this is still the case, his death has completely changed the media as we know it. Not only has Obama’s socialist agenda been ignored (which surprises me still) but there are men and women who MEAN something to this country that are dying overseas for our freedom.

Now, some celebs I might actually be shocked if they died and be sad for the loss of them. Just to name a few: Robert De Niro, Anthony Hopkins, Brent Smith (the lead singer of Shinedown… he is an AMAZING person and spreads positive messages at his concerts), Michael Jordan, Tim Brown, John Madden…. the list could go on and on. These are famous people who have actually achieved things in life through hard work and failure as well as accomplishments . They aren’t into drugs (that I know of… or they’re clean now), they’re not constantly in the media for stupid crap, they’re not in legal battles for stupid crap…

Ok, let me interrupt. I just checked my phone, I have service through Sprint, and there is a TV function on my phone. I clicked on it, clicked “live tv” because I wanted to watch soccer. Not only is there a special folder for the funeral for Michael Jackson, there are REPLAYS THROUGHOUT THE DAY!

Celebrities like MICHAEL JACKSON, Paris Hilton, Nichole Richie, O.J. Simpson, Lindsey Lohan, Adam “Pacman” Jones and the likes should not be held up on a pedestal by the media or anyone else!

I don’t want the United States to be represented by people, like those idiots, to the rest of the world. It makes us look bad. I guess what I’m trying to say is Michael Jackson was a druggie child molester that should not be held up on high. NO celebrity’s funeral should be covered by all major news networks. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

As I mentioned before, there are men and women dying overseas for our freedom. There are brainwashing bills being passed in the house and senate and the media sits there and says nothing about them, but doesn’t miss a minute of Michael Jackson’s coverage. There are missiles being fired from NoKo and the media stands back and laughs. BHO and Hillary Clinton side with dictators in Russia and the media becomes pawns in his hands. Take this excerpt from his speech today:

“Now let me be clear: America cannot and should not seek to impose any system of government on any other country, nor would we presume to choose which party or individual should run a country. And we haven’t always done what we should have on that front. Even as we meet here today, America supports now the restoration of the democratically elected President of Honduras, even though he has strongly opposed American policies. We do so not because we agree with him. We do so because we respect the universal principle that people should choose their own leaders, whether they are leaders we agree with or not.”

taken from http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2009/07/07/3004185-obamas-speech-on-us-russia-relations

Uh… EXCUSE ME! I do NOT support any form of that statement whatsoever! Yes Obama was elected to represent our country, (I didn’t vote for him but whatever) but he’s not doing so well. Maybe the sheeple that follow him and worship the ground he walks on agree with him, but if you read my last blog, even some of the liberals are waking up and seeing the mess he is creating.

Obama is becoming too much of a celebrity. If it’s not about Michael Jackson, it’s about Obama. I know he’s our president, but there has to be SOMETHING else to report about! Hell I’d almost rather hear about burglaries and forest fires than Obama and his constant lies! Either way, I guess it’s pretty depressing, huh? HA.

Even Fox News who claims to be “fair and balanced” has been pissing me off lately. I’ve hidden the remote and I’m not going to watch news for a week. Seriously. Movies and shows are all good, but I refuse to watch the MSM for any news whatsoever. I’ll get my REAL news via internet and radio. I don’t care about Michael Jackson. Yes he was a great singer and dancer, but he was also a child molester, drug addict and a freak. The last time I saw this much media coverage over a dead celeb was Ronald Reagan, and to me that was worthy, but even still a bit too much.

The main stream media needs to remember how to report news, and not crap. I wonder if we all stopped tuning in if they would finally get the hint and get back to basics.

Doubt it.

I read this post in a blog called Church v.s. State – First Amendment Religion Clauses
. It was so well done, I asked the author for permission to place it here. Enjoy!

90% is a pretty big number. If a baseball player hit the ball 90% of the time at bat, he would be in the record book, probably on page 1. Or if I flipped a coin over and over and and it came up heads 90% of the time, I would start looking closely at the coin to see if someone is playing a trick on me.

2% is also an impressive number. If a student were in the top 2% of her high school class, her parents would probably have a special bumper sticker on their car.

Keep those numbers in mind.

As I have mentioned before on this blog, the Founding Fathers who wrote our Constitution were very, very concerned about not letting the Federal Government take too much power unto itself. This blog focuses on the First Amendment, which keeps the government from limiting our religious rights. And the 10th Amendment, also mentioned a few times on this blog, says that the Federal Government has ONLY the power specifically designated by the Constitution.

While I haven’t mentioned it before, the 5th Amendment to our Constitution says that a person may not be “…deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Recently I have seen some rather major assumptions of power by our Federal Government. For one thing, they are investing in private companies in return for a share of or even control of the company. But most disturbing is the takeover of the automobile companies and some of the actions following.

If you read the papers or follow any news source, you will know that the Government is now controlling both General Motors and Chrysler. As part of their effort to make Chrysler profitable, they have insisted that the company eliminate many of its dealers, now announced at a total of 789.

In some cases, the owners of the dealerships have been in business for decades, have purchased a Chrysler franchise (i.e. they “own” the franchise), have an inventory of cars they purchased, and have an inventory of parts. The company is not reimbursing them for their property. They are taking back the franchises. They are taking back their ability to sell the cars as new cars. They are taking back their ability to do warranty repairs. This will force owners who have done nothing wrong into bankruptcy.

The Government is running this operation. But, since the 5th Amendment bars the Government from taking property without either due process of law or reimbursement, how is this possible? That’s my first objection. My second one is possibly MUCH more serious.

The 90% Number
The information that follows is still being filled in, but so far the numbers are very troubling. Looking at political donor records, it has been shown that of the 789 dealers whose dealerships and livelihood are being taken away, and who actually contributed to political campaigns, 90% of them donated to Republican causes in the last few years. And of those same people, only 10% gave to Democrats.

The 2% Number
The formula that the Government used to determine who got closed is not totally disclosed, but sales are part of the consideration (logically enough). One of the dealers on the closing list stated that his dealership was in the top 2% of dealers in sales. If you were cutting back dealers, would you eliminate one that was doing so well?

One has to wonder – after I publish this post, will my name suddenly appear on a list of those the IRS needs to audit?

IF the facts above are supported as more data is made available, we should all be concerned. At least I can still pray about it (quietly, if I don’t let anyone know I am praying).

More detail on World Net Daily

New stats are now available showing the historic percentage of car dealers who donate to Republicans vs. Democrats. In the last 3 election cycles it has averaged 76% to Republicans. So that makes it less overwhelming. However, it is still out of balance. It off by about 20% (76 vs. 90+) – in other words, about 20% more Republican donors were axed than would be statistically expected.

Actor, Comedian, and farmer Paul Rodriguez, once a strong proponent of Democrats, has switched sides. Not over health care, or immigration reform, or even Iraq. He switched sides because of a fish, specifically Hypomesus transpacificus – the Delta Smelt. This tiny fish will cause the ruination of Southern California’s Central Valley area, some of the most fertile land on Earth. It will render thousands of farmers and farm hands unemployed. This fish is in a fight with the farmers, all over water.

The pumps which supply the valley with water from Northern California have been switched off after a judge ruled in favor of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and their report claiming that the pumps are hazardous to this minnow sized fish. Last week, Lester Snow and other California water regulators urged the federal government to reconsider it’s protections for the endangered Smelt. In previous years, the water pumped in has been restricted, this year it has been cut off completely. And without water, there is no farming. What is especially damaging is that farmers have already planted, so without their crops they will be ruined.

Rodriguez helped create the California Latino Water Coalition, has led marches of several thousand people, and spoke to many of the Democrats he helped get elected – so far nothing has worked. On the Mark Levin Show on May 13th, Rodriguez said,

When I called [them] I was told to ‘stick to the jokes’…So now I realize that it was really the Republicans who had my best interests at heart all along.

Unemployment, already high in California, is skyrocketing in the valley. For example, Mendota, a small town in Fresno County, has seen its unemployment rate jump to 35%, high even for a community with a large population of seasonal farm workers. Greater Fresno is above 13.2%. And the impact to California’s $20 Billion agriculture industry is incalculable. Todd Diedrich, and almond grower, has been forced to let two thirds of his 1,500 acre farm go fallow.

What is clear is that environmentalists, along with California lawmakers and the FWS, have teamed up to kill off farming in the 400 mile long valley. When asked about the policy and it’s effects on the farmers and workers Lloyd Carter (a Gerry Brown appointee and environmental activist) said,

They’re not even American citizens for starters, right? Do you think that we should employ illegal aliens? What parent raises their child to become a farm worker? These kids they are the least educated people in America, or in the southwest corner of this valley, they turn to lives of crime, they go on to go on welfare, they get into drug trafficking and they join gangs.

To environmentalists, the farmers are irrelevant. The food supply is irrelevant, the health of California’s agriculture industry is irrelevant. Saving a tiny fish from harm is all that matters, and no compromise will be allowed. It is possible that another solution can be worked out, but in the meantime trees, plants, and animals go thirsty while the workers go hungry.

It is absolutely insane.

I could have photoshopped a better picture. If this is the best picture they have, the photographer needs to join Louis Caldera in the unemployment line. This is just one more thing which shows Obama’s

A New York Magazine piece released on April 12th, proves that puff pieces are not just for Democrats anymore. Sometimes a hip and trendy young Republican gets polished in the press as well.

Eric Ulrich, a newly elected New York City Councilman, is just the sort of poster-child for the “New Right” Democrats need to complete the project of creating “the New Right.” He’s young (24, ooohhh), cool (he watches Family Guy, aaahhh), has great hair, trendy cloths, and…wait for it…wait for it…BASHES CONSERVATIVES IN THE SOUTH! What could be better? Here is the quote lest I be accused of taking poor Eric out of context:

You know, Republicans aren’t all religious fundamentalists from Alabama; some of us are just normal, working-class Catholics from Queens.

As one of Alabama’s Conservative representatives (I even got me a piture of ‘ol Bama on my websait thingy) I take umbrage at Eric’s statement (surprised someone from Alabama could actually use ‘umbrage’ in a sentence, Eric?). I am here to “tear you a new one, Eric.”

If you were a real Republican, New York Magazine would not have touched you with a 10 foot pole. They might have poked fun at you somewhere, but that would be iffy until you began running for higher office. And they would be the first to label your statement as a “hate crime” if you directed it at anyone other than Southern Christians.

If you were a real Republican, you would know that all religions should be handled with a level of respect. The disdain practically drips from your statement at those of us who actually hold their religious beliefs to be true. That is, after all, what ‘fundamentalism’ means. It does not mean extremism. Christians who believe that God created the world, created man, allowed man to fall from perfection, sent His Son to rectify the problem and take our place in Death, then raised His Son from the dead are essentially fundamentalists. If you yourself do not believe these things, then I’d like to talk to you about allowing Christ into your life.

If religious ‘fundamentalists’ did not hold their religions to be true, then what the heck are we getting up on a Sunday morning for? Church is not a country club Eric. We don’t just sit around and decide what we are going to believe on a particular day. Nor do we take polls to see what beliefs are popular that week. That is what makes it a Religion. People die every day for their religious beliefs, most of them are Christians. Do you also have a problem with the Catholic religious fundamentalists? Perhaps your priest would like to have a word with you, or better yet, your mother.

The second part of your statement claims that you are normal because you are from Queens. I’ve seen Queens…you can keep it. Give me blue sky, green trees, and breathable air any day. Because we are different, in dialect, in priorities, and obviously in manners, does not mean that we, and by we I mean those of us from the great state of Alabama, are not normal. So, we put sugar in our tea while it’s brewing instead of trying to dissolve it in a cold liquid – so what? To me, that just makes us smarter, but not more or less normal.

The last part of your statement sent me through the roof, “…some of us are just working-class [people]…” And what, we’re just plantation owners who sit around drinking Mint Julep’s? Or worse yet, unemployed trailer inhabitants watching monster truck rallies on our 19″ TV’s? Most people are “working-class” Eric, you would do well to remember that. Even wealthy people work, or do you think that doctors, bankers, and lawyers, just stay at the 19th hole while magically collecting enormous paychecks?

Eric, if you are representative of the New Right, than I don’t want any part of it. I’d rather stay in my “backwoods” state with its working-class religious fundamentalists, thank you very much. At least we know how to make tea.

P.S. A shout-out to my buddy Suzanna Logan and her blog for bringing this idiot to my attention. And just so my blog post can also be labeled “cool” here is a picture:
