The Tulsa Tea Party yesterday was a success! It poured rain but we all had a lot of fun and got the message out well. I took some pictures that I will share with you here.

I got to learn more about the Fair Tax which I also will upload a video to youtube shortly. Also got to learn about the Oath Keepers, which I had never heard of before. I learned so much and felt more like an American than any other Independence Day.

Just a few Tea Party slogans that I found interesting today as I googled ideas for my own signs, which I found some good ones at http://www.freesignartwork.com/tea-party.html I have been looking forward to the next tea party sense the one I attended on tax day. When I found out that Tulsa was having one on July 4th, I felt like a kid in a candy store I was so excited. I believe these tea parties are one great beneficial way that America is coming together to protest and help restore our country to what it once was.

This country was founded on the Constitution, which so boldly starts off with “We The People,” and if you haven’t read at least the preamble in a while I suggest you do so. You can find the entire constitution here:http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

It is our duty as American citizens to make sure our state and local representatives are doing their job. These tea parties are one way to show them that we mean business and we demand them to listen to our cries to take our country back.

I am fortunate enough to live in a “red state” and I respect Oklahoma’s Represenatives and Congressmen. John Sullivan actually spoke briefly at the Tulsa tea party and it was a great honor to see him helping to support such a noble cause.

My husband will be attending the tea party with me this Saturday. While he’s not into politics as much as I am, I assured him he will enjoy the rally as much as I will. By the way, if anyone from Oklahoma is reading this, please check outhttp://www.okfortea.com/ as we would love to have you show up at the tea party.

I believe it is things like the tea parties that will restore this nation to the beliefs and ideals that were once founded and expressed in the Declaraion of Independence. One of my favorite lines from this great document is

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government”

It is time, America. Time to wake up and realize the destruction going on in D.C. by both sides of the political street. Time to realize that we CAN make a difference as to who is in office and we don’t have to put up with the wrong doings that are going on currently! For too long we have been doing the same thing. Voting for whoever is in our political party. I highly suggest you take a look at the major issues at hand and really dig deep into the people running for office in 2010 and 2012 and base your vote off of their principles and values rather than just their party affiliation.

We need to take back America and you can help. Join your local tea party this week (or whenever the next one is) and let’s show D.C. we mean business. Enough of the pork barrel spending. Enough of the taxes. We need people in office who TRULY believe in what our Founding Fathers stood for and we have been acknowledging for the last 200+ years.

Who needs “hope and change” when you have faith?

California, I wish I could just slap you for electing this pitiful excuse for a House Speaker. Nancy is absolutely delusional in this interview. Is she projecting? Did she get into some model airplane glue? I don’t know, but one thing I do know is almost every word out of this woman’s mouth is an outright lie.

I was one of a handful of volunteers that helped to put the Birmingham, AL Tea Party together. I believe our overall budget was about $200. At no point did some “wealthy Republican” give us a dime. We did not receive any marching orders from Carl Rove, nor did we get talking-points from the Fox News Channel. If there ever was a grass-roots movement – this is it.

So, the only remaining questions is, why did she lie? I think she, and the severely Left-leaning media, is a bit spooked by more than half-a-million protesters. Yes, you read correctly, half-a-million. That is a movement. And this is only the beginning. The liberals are scared. They know they have severely pissed of the majority of Americans. If they lose control of Congress in 2010, they will be hard pressed to advance their agenda and the Utopia they believe they are ushering in will vaporize.

It is obvious the news media is incapable of reporting objectively anymore. One local broadcast Thursday morning so badly understated the Tea Party event it was ridiculous. “Dozens” of protests were attended by “hundreds” of protesters? I don’t think so. With that kind of math, one could say that Obama was elected by only “thousands” of voters.

Our local rag, The Birmingham News, sent a staff writer who proved himself to be no journalist. Jeremy Gray, opened with a fair, although understated line,

Across Alabama and throughout the nation, tens of thousands of people staged “tea parties” Wednesday to voice their disapproval of government spending and economic bailouts.

Jeremy, hundreds of thousands (and perhaps a million, the numbers are still coming in) of people staged the largest single day protest in American history. We were voicing disapproval of government spending, and the economic bailouts…which are part of the government spending, but also the government’s intrusion into our lives.

He continues with this outright lie,

At Hoover’s Veterans Park, police directed traffic as several hundred people gathered for one of more than a dozen rallies in Alabama and more than 500 around the country.

What time did you stop by Jeremy? We had several hundred by 3:30 pm. The event didn’t start until 6:30 pm. I have the pictures to prove it. We had about 6-7000 people there. Hoover’s Mayor had to write in and correct your numbers with his own estimate of over 5000. And “more than 500 (protests) around the country?” Yes, over 2300 is more than 500 so it’s not technically a lie, just stupid.

Here is another idiotic statement you made Jeremy,

The tea parties were promoted by FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington and led by former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas.

Hundreds of Conservative websites and blogs “promoted” the event. Thousands connected through Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. But your statement would lead a reader to believe that FreedomWorks was responsible for the Tea Party movement – and that makes you an idiot.

What makes this a political hit piece is the final 2-1/2″ of article quoting a statement from the DNC.

What’s clear is that the overwhelming majority of folks support President Obama’s plan to get the economy back on track and provide 95% of working families with tax relief. It is interesting to note that the folks leading today’s activities are the very ones that promoted, and benefited by, the policies of the previous administration.

First, Jeremy, I want you to show me articles where you covered Left-Wing protests and ended with quotes from the RNC or some other Conservative think-tank such as the Heritage Foundation. Secondly, there is absolutely no proof of the highly suspect statements made by the DNC spokesperson, Hari Sevugan. These protests, on the contrary, prove that the majority of people do not support Obama’s plan. Nor do we believe one word of the “95%…tax cut” crap. And finally, you benefited from the previous administration’s tax cuts as well, and if you were working during the Reagan administration – which I doubt – you would have breathed a heavy sigh of relief when he put the economy back on track.

Jeremy, you are no reporter, just another political hack like that brainless, rude tart Susan Roesgen on CNN masquerading as a reporter. You, her, and almost everyone in your profession have proven themselves to be untrustworthy and unethical. And then you wonder why your viewership is down. Hmmm…

In our wildest dreams, we could not have imagined the turn out for the Birmingham, AL Tea Party. Our initial hopes for attendance were somewhere between 500-1000. In actuality, and much to the ire of the news media who have consistently under reported this event, we had well over 6,000 people. We would have had more, but traffic was backed up so badly on Valleydale road that many could just not get to us in time.

Kelly, Dorthey, Zan, the rest of The Rainy Day Patriots, and Marcelo were the grass roots of this whole event. We had absolutely no budget, so just about everything was donated. A sincere thanks and virtual pat on the back to them. I also want to commend and thank everyone who attended. We had no security issues, everyone was extremely polite – even with bathrooms facilities for only about 2,000 people. There was almost no difference in the park from before and after the event, everyone packed out their trash. We even had dozens of volunteers help set up and take down all of the decorations, sound system, etc. Betcha’ ACORN can’t ever say that!

A sincere thank you to all the speakers for the event, Steve & Leah, Rick & Bubba, Dominick Brascia, Matt Murphy, and more I can’t remember. Oh, and a special thank you to Sean Hannity and his crew.

Here are some of the pictures I took from my cell phone of the event. Since the sun went down just after seven, it was impossible to take any after that time. It is important to remember that people kept streaming in up until about 8:30…and the event was supposed to end at 9:00 pm.

I will be attending the Tea Party in Birmingham, AL on April 15th, and providing pictures and a report immediately afterwards. The Tea Party Revolution has picked up some real steam (there are some great pics and videos on Malkin’s site here).  Dozens more protests are being planned (PJTV has a list here or you can go to Tax Day Tea Party).  Despite the thousands of people who are (and will be) protesting, the thousands upon thousands who wrote/faxed/emailed their representatives to stop Porkfest 2009, and the level of public frustration and outrage, we are being ignored.

When the protests first began, I recall seeing one quick reporting blurb on Headline News.  I still have not seen this story picked up by any major news outlet.  While it is possible that I have missed some reports (I do have better things to do than watch the news 24/7) I do recall far more attention paid to the likes of Code Pink’s protests caught on CSPAN.  I am not naive enough to believe that the MSM will give us the same attention, but the total media blackout is a bit spooky.  We’re not even being made fun of by MSNBC…nothing but chirping crickets.

An occasional story will appear like this one from the Village Voice, which is not really reporting, but seems more like snickering from the “popular crowd” during a grade school book report given by the class geek.

The best you could say for them was that they happened. Rightbloggers were the main publicists for the 40-odd rallies, and may be encouraged to have gotten even a few thousand widely-spaced conservatives to make signs and stand outdoors for a hour or two.

But that doesn’t matter: these rallies were not meant to sway ordinary citizens, who probably barely noticed them, but to assuage the hurt feelings of true believers out there in the blogosphere who will be delighted to hear that, in this Age of Obama, even a small number of people who believe the same things as they do stood in streets and parks and yelled in loud voices, as we reported from the New York tea party, to accuse Obama of socialism, communism, and fascism.

The right-wing (I really hate that term – but that’s another discussion) blogs, for the most part, are echoing and amplifying this protest.  At some point I expect a critical mass to be reached.  At some point I expect us to be taken seriously.  At some point…ahhh who am I kidding.  At some point the MSM is going to wish they never helped Obooboo get into office.  Sure, there will be those who will follow PBO into the gates of hell, but perhaps when Katie Couric has to decide to sell either her Park Avenue apartment or East Hampton home to pay her tax bill the new car smell might actually wear off.

In the mean time, let it be known to those on the left that this great country of ours is now truly on the wrong path.  And in no way is this similar to the “wrong path” that liberals decried at every turn when GWB was in office.  They could never actually point to something real – just hoist invective up the flagpole for their friends to salute.  We have the force of history, economics, and the dire warnings of our founding fathers on our side.  Whatever we do, we do not need to give up.  We need to continually say – in one loud voice – NO!  The American People do NOT want to destroy our economy or our political system.  We WILL NOT become a pseudo-fascist country without a serious fight.  We must shout this over and over again to all who can hear us.  The left got where they are by being the squeaky wheel, we need to go one better and be as loud as new break pads.

Keep the pressure up on your representatives.  Make their fax machines burn through toner cartridges.  It will help stimulate the economy and might eventually get the point across.  There is no need for long letters – they won’t read them anyway.  Just use these words: What part of “NO !” do you not understand? But don’t stop with just the representatives, let’s get the other government agencies involved as well.  Someone find Tim Geithner’s fax number and blow up his machine;  or the HHS director.  Better yet, here is the Department of Energy’s fax number 202-586-4403 (Secretary Stephen Chu).

Now for some good news, there is an effect occurring.  Those I talk to who once supported Obooboo (though for the life of them couldn’t tell me why), are now strangely quiet.  The effects on the stock market, and the real-world impact to their 401K’s seem to be chilling the fire that once blazed in their bellies.  The excitement they had now seems to be replaced with unspoken disappointment – like a kid who opens a Christmas present from their favorite relative and finds a sweater.  Normally, I would vote for letting Obama’s stupidity speak for itself, but the man is too damned dangerous to run around unchecked.  We need to keep the light on his past deeds and future plans, constantly pointing them out to everyone before the evil trinity of Reid, Pelosi, and Obama pull an Edward Smith and sink the country.

For if they succeed, “I told you so” will hardly seem like the right thing to say.
